The "Concerts in the Park" series provides a peaceful reminder of the quieter times in parks at the turn of the century. The first concert series was held in 1994 after the park opened. All musical groups play a variety of music from the time period prior to 1940. Concert sponsors assist with the cost of publicity and the bands for these well-attended community events.

The State Parks Staff and the NPMC Board set the dates for the Friday evening concerts held in June and July. The bands set up in front of the amphitheater with park visitors sitting in chairs or on blankets in the large grass area adjacent to the picnic area and the Varietal Grove. Visitors can bring their coolers with dinner and drinks, but no alcohol is allowed.
