The park’s general plan calls for an historic area across the arroyo from the Visitor Center. Visitors will use a water flume bridge, built for pedestrian access, to reach the historic area where future sites will include:
  • The restored historic Riverside Highland Water Company engine and pump
  • A workers’ camp to interpret the life and realities of the workers in the citrus industry
  • A packinghouse, water office and company store
  • A middle class grower’s home and related historic artifacts
These future park developments will be funded from citrus sales, rental income from facilities, gift shop sales, visitor fees, private and corporate donations and public park bond funds from the State, County and City.
